Two young mums tackle the $17 billion baby carrier industry
Founders of Sia baby, Alexandra Caisey and Chantelle Lewis, are the latest challengers for the $17 billion baby carrier industry. With their new brand, the two young mums tackle one of parents’ most significant decisions when purchasing baby carriers: fashionable or practical.
The future of baby carriers
Sia baby aspires to challenge parents’ expectations for baby carriers. Alexandra and Chantelle worked to design and produce unique baby carriers that are functional and stylish, an area the industry lacked.
Four years in the making, Sia baby has officially launched and provides a promising future for the pair in the baby carrier market. The young mothers use their first-hand experience to create something truly original that all parents will love.
“After having children of our own and trying various baby carriers, nothing on the market seemed to have what was needed as a new parent,” Chantelle said.
In fact, Alexandra and Chantelle found that parents were limited for choice regarding stylish and functional carriers.
“It became our mission to design a carrier that was convenient, comfortable and functional – without compromising on style,” Chantelle explained.
The baby carrier industry is expected to grow more than $20 billion by 2025. Considering this number, Sia baby aspires to have a global presence in the next twelve months.
“We are a 100 per cent Australian owned business, and we want to share our home-grown creation with the world. We know our baby carriers are true game-changers for parents, so it’s our dream to be able to share these with as many parents as possible,” Alexandra says.
The Sia baby range has three stunning limited edition prints that are ready to buy with global shipping available immediately on their website.
Australian Creative Director Erin Donati from the Darling Assembly illustrates the designs and is both a mum and businesswoman. The Sand, Botanical, and Gingham prints are gender-neutral, perfect for baby boys, girls, and parents.
A brand that cares for parents and the environment
Sia baby’s carriers are not only beautiful, stylish and luxurious but have functional features that no other soft carrier has. The design aims to make life as easy as possible for both parents when carrying little ones.
The mums have learnt from other brands to create a distinctive baby carrier that stands out. The carrier has multiple pockets and a bottle holder for multitasking parents. Sia baby carrier cares for the comfort and safety of its young users too. The brand recently received the stamp of approval from the International Hip Dysplasia Institute.
The brand also considers the planet in its construction of the baby carrier, using 100 per cent pure organic linen and vegan hardware. It also uses eco-friendly dyeing technology, meeting the Global [environmental] STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certifications.
Sia baby is also socially conscious and committed to giving back by donating $1 from every sale to their nominated charities.
