Turning the tables on traditional marketing: How to sell without the ‘leads’ approach

Here’s the thing most people get wrong from the start: they’re told to focus on growing their list, building funnels, setting up automations, and chasing leads like it’s the holy grail. But that whole setup is designed to keep you busy, not paid.

I didn’t grow a seven-figure business by collecting email addresses and hoping one day they’d turn into buyers. I didn’t waste time on perfectly curated Instagram grids, networking events full of people pitching each other (sellers selling to other sellers), or spending months writing a book no one would read. I skipped all that. No professional photoshoots. No free downloads. No waiting around for someone to discover me.

I flipped the whole model on its head and went straight to the people who were ready to buy now.

What buyers actually want is the outcome

Fundamentally, leads are just data points. Demographics. They fit your avatar on paper. But here’s the kicker: just because someone is a single woman aged 35-55 doesn’t mean she wants a partner. Just because someone follows you doesn’t mean they want to buy. Just because someone clicked your landing page doesn’t mean they’re serious.

You end up spending all your time chasing people who were never going to say yes. That means more DMs, more ghosting, more calls that go nowhere. Exhausting. And completely avoidable.

What you need to be doing is speaking directly to buyers.

Buyers are problem aware. They know they have an issue and they want it solved. They’re not just interested, they’re ready. They’re showing signs—consuming your content, asking the right questions, moving toward the sale.

That’s who I market to. That’s who I speak to every day. And that’s why I’ve built a business that feels like flow, not force.

Here’s the other problem: most people are selling the tool. The process. The method.

You’re leading with your NLP, your RTT, your 10-step system. But no one’s buying that. You’re in love with your process. Your potential clients? They don’t care. They care about the outcome: they want to know what changes, what it gets them. What they can have, be, or feel on the other side.

The message that actually sells

This is where STT comes in. Every message that sells has these three things:

  1. Specificity – You need to say exactly what you do and who it’s for. Not “empower women” or “help people grow”—say what they get, what changes, what improves.
  2. Tangibility – Be clear, not interpretive. If five people could read your post and all come to a different conclusion, it’s not clear enough. Tangible means there’s no room for confusion.
  3. Timeframe – The buyer wants to know when. They’re overwhelmed and they want quick wins. Can I get a result in 48 hours? Can I land a client this week? Spell it out.

This isn’t a formula to sound clever. It’s a way to actually speak to the people who want to pay you. When you get all three right, your message cuts through instantly. Your audience knows what you offer, what result they’ll get, and how fast. That’s what gets them reaching for their wallet.

I built my business by staying laser focused on the people who are ready. I’ve shown up with a message that makes them stop and say, “She gets it.”

Stop broadcasting. start attracting

Marketing is not about throwing out bait and hoping something sticks. It’s about calling in the people who already want what you have. And you do that with clarity, confidence, and connection that actually lands.

You’re not here to convince. You’re here to convert. And when you stop following the 99% who are still chasing leads, and start thinking and acting like the 1% who are closing sales with ease, everything shifts.

Hard work is still involved, but working smarter means selling to the people who are ready to buy right now.

That’s how you scale without the stress. That’s how you lead without chasing. That’s how you turn your business into a machine that makes money while you sleep.

No more chasing leads. Only buyers.
