Out of this world! The 10 most talked-about tech products for 2025
CES 2025 – one of the world’s oldest trade fairs for new tech, electronics and products – wrapped up last week in Las Vegas. It was an incredible week of groundbreaking technology.
From futuristic vehicles to AI-powered gadgets, this year’s event showcased innovations that pushed the boundaries of what’s possible.
As the world’s largest tech conference and the ultimate launchpad for consumer technology, CES never fails to inspire.
While there was an overwhelming volume of tech on display, here are some of the biggest announcements, launches, and concepts that stole the show this year.
1. Roborock Saros Z70: A cleaning revolution

The Roborock Saros Z70
Robo helpers led the way this year, from robo lawn mowers to pool cleaners, but my absolute favourite was the upgraded robo vacuum with a robotic arm to pick up small objects!
The Roborock Saros Z70 robot vacuum wowed attendees with its groundbreaking OmniGrip technology.
Featuring a five-axis mechanical arm, this device can identify and remove small obstacles like toys, socks, and napkins before cleaning your floors. It’s not just a vacuum; it’s a multitasking marvel that combines tidying with thorough cleaning, making it a game-changer for busy households.

2. Halliday AI Glasses: The future of wearables

The Halliday AI Glasses
Smart glasses finally hit their stride at CES 2025, with Halliday stealing the spotlight.
These AI-powered glasses deliver functionality akin to Meta’s Ray-Bans but with a lighter, sleeker form factor. What truly caught my eye (pun intended) was their lensless display that projects notifications, translations, and more, seamlessly integrating augmented reality into everyday life without obstructing your view.

3. NVIDIA Project DIGITS: AI for everyone

NVIDIA’s Project DIGITS
NVIDIA’s Project DIGITS is proof that powerful tech can come in small packages. The USD$3,000 personal supercomputer promises to democratise AI development. With 1,000 times the power of a standard laptop, this compact device is perfect for researchers, developers, and smaller organisations working on machine learning.
It’s an exciting step toward making advanced AI tools accessible without breaking the bank.

4. BYD Yangwang U9 Supercar: Mobility innovation

The BYD Yangwang U9 supercar
BYD’s Yangwang U9 supercar captivated audiences with its “jumping suspension” feature, enabling it to leap over obstacles like potholes.
This innovation not only improves safety but also hints at a future where mobility and adaptability go hand in hand.

5. Xpeng Aero HT: A flying minivan

The Xpeng Aero HT
Speaking of futuristic vehicles, the Xpeng Aero HT turned heads with its promise of flying over traffic. The vehicle made headlines as a fusion of a minivan and an eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft).
Designed to fly over traffic, this futuristic “Land Aircraft Carrier” is redefining urban mobility and offers a tantalising glimpse into the era of personal flying vehicles.
The presence of flying vehicles was a recurring theme at CES 2025, further underscored by Delta Air Lines’ announcement of future electric aircraft offerings, like those from Joby.

6. NVIDIA Cosmos: The dawn of physical AI

NVIDIA Cosmos
Right at the start of the week, NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang declared that “the ChatGPT moment for robotics is coming.”
He’s making good on that promise with NVIDIA’s Cosmos platform, which is designed to make advanced robotics accessible to developers everywhere.
Essentially, it’s an open-source Video World Model platform aimed at revolutionising robotics and autonomous vehicles. Cosmos democratises access to advanced robotics development, making it a transformative tool for developers worldwide.

7. Withings Omnia: The smart health mirror

Withings Omnia
Withings introduced its latest project under development, Omnia, a full-length smart mirror that provides a 360-degree health assessment.
From tracking weight and heart health to monitoring sleep quality and metabolic data, this AI-powered device integrates seamlessly with other health tech to deliver actionable insights.
It’s a leap forward in personalised wellness technology.

8. Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable: A transformative PC

Lenovo’s ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable
Lenovo redefined laptop displays with its rollable ThinkBook Plus Gen 6. At first, it looks like your standard 14-inch OLED laptop, but with the press of a button (or the wave of a hand), the screen unfurls to a glorious 16.7 inches. It’s perfect for anyone (like me) who always has too many tabs open.

9. Honda 0 Saloon: Autonomous Elegance

The Honda O Saloon
Honda’s 0 Saloon electric car prototype combines sleek design with advanced autonomous driving capabilities.
Set for production in late 2026, the best part is its Level 3 autonomous driving capability so you can catch up on Netflix or join a Zoom call and enjoy a hands-free experience while the car handles the road.

10. BMW Panoramic iDrive: Driving redefined

BMW Panoramic iDrive
The car makers were really at it this year with BMW’s Panoramic iDrive technology showing off a full-windshield heads-up display.
Stretching from pillar to pillar, the entire windshield doubled as a customisable display, projecting driving info, weather updates, and even Spotify playlists.
I loved how immersive and interactive the interface was for drivers and passengers alike.

Special Mention: The Nuwa Three-Camera Pen

The Nuwa Three-Camera Pen
I’m a self-confessed stationary nerd so I had to mention this one – but the Nuwa Pen is so much more than a fancy pen.
Equipped with three cameras, it captures your handwritten notes and syncs them to an app where you can search by keywords or interact with an AI. It’s the perfect blend of analog charm and digital convenience, let’s just say it’s rewriting the rules of note-taking.
