Zeller launches free Contact Directory to assist business owners in understanding their customers and suppliers

Australian fintech Zeller has released their most significant feature post-launch – Zeller Contact Directory. The new feature allows merchants to better understand their cash flow by producing rich information and detail about the customers who are purchasing from them on Zeller Terminal, and the suppliers they are spending with on their Zeller Mastercard.

Zeller is already seeing a significant uptake of the feature with nearly 1000 contacts being created by Zeller merchants each week since the feature launched.

According to Siftery, in 2021 the average merchant is using 37 different business tools to run their business day-to-day. Zeller looks to reduce this operational burden on merchants and save them time and money by embedding powerful, free CRM capabilities into the Zeller financial services ecosystem.

Zeller contact directory benefits business

Zeller Contact Directory allows merchants to create and manage contacts in their Zeller Dashboard. Key benefits for merchants include:

  • Strengthened relationships with both customers and suppliers through a greater understanding of funds spent and earnt.
  • Enable merchants to identify opportunities to improve their bottom line by understanding the most frequent and high-spending customers to nurture, or vendors and suppliers they frequently transact with to establish more favourable trading
  • Access enriched data on their spending patterns, with the ability to attach transaction receipts, notes, quotes and invoices for more effective accounting and

“Through Zeller Contact Directory we’re enabling our merchants to significantly enhance their understanding of the people and businesses behind their transactions — who their most loyal customers are, and which suppliers they spend most frequently with” commented Ben Pfisterer, Zeller CEO and co-founder. “Alongside this powerful data, we are delivering our merchants a tool that enables them to upload and manage contact collateral such as invoices and receipts. We are helping them make more informed decisions — whether it’s negotiating better deals with suppliers, or understanding customer loyalty and engagement.”

Amie Keane, co-owner of Fresh Food Corner, an early Zeller adopter, quickly embraced these new Zeller features in the day-to-day management of her business, a specialty butcher and grocer in Balaclava, an inner-city suburb of Melbourne.

“Zeller Contact Directory is fantastic! It is giving us so much more visibility over our cash flow, and where we are spending our money with suppliers. Over the past few weeks, since it launched, we have been using it regularly, and have been very impressed with how easy it is to use” Keane noted. “We are also excited to try to utilise the Contact Directory from the other side of our business. Being able to track who our biggest customers are, by adding contacts and tracking how they spend with us provides us with really valuable information.”

In March, Zeller announced that following a A$100M funding round, the company was worth over A$1B  – making it the fastest Australian company to reach unicorn status.
