The best video editing apps for your social media content
Ready to create some video content for your brand to share on social media but don’t know where to start? Social media expert Amani Youssef shares her top video tips and recommended video editing apps for beginners.
Video content has become an imperative tool for all social media platforms and strategies, and it’s the best way to hook your audience in 2023. Video is not only easy to consume, but it allows you to showcase more in less time.
No matter which social media platform you are posting on, video is now prioritised more than image content, so you need to have a good understanding of video editing.
Top tips for creating video content
Whether you are driving traffic to your website, sharing the benefits and features of your product, or showcasing your customer experience – your video should cover the following:
- Your intentions should be made clear in the first five seconds.
- Your accompanying text and description should be clear and straight to the point.
- A call-to-action at the end of the video.
- Keep your video short and only include the content that needs to be in there – remove things that are unnecessary to the intention of the video.
- Make the most of trending sounds and topics – your video will more likely be shared if it is relevant!
- Use a logo or watermark to establish your brand’s visual identity.
3 easy video editing apps to try
Within my agency, So Social, we have tried and tested hundreds of different apps, so I wanted to share the top three video editing apps we found super easy to use.
1. Inshot
Inshot is the most simple of all the mobile video editing apps. It allows you to trim video, remove the middle part, split the video, merge clips, adjust speed and add sound and text.
2. CapCut
CapCut is available on both desktop and mobile, with more extensive editing capabilities for users. All you need to do is drag and drop your videos, pictures and audio to the timeline and create engaging videos in just minutes!
3. Videoleap
Videoleap allows mobile users to create videos from templates, and with many special effects built into the app you will surely stand out from the crowd with unique video styles.
Video content will make your brand seem more personable – and this is where social media is heading. Brands that are personable are seeing rapid organic growth on all social media platforms.
Followers appreciate seeing the behind-the-scenes moments, your people and processes – and as an added bonus, it increases transparency of your brand. Consumers will understand your brand and business better and quicker, and ultimately, this trust building process will put you ahead of the pack!
