It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The Christmas cheer fills your offices with laughter, holiday plans and your favourite Christmas carols. However, if you’re a small office – and you have been busier than ever coming up to the close of the year – it also means one of you has the task of planning the end of year Christmas party.

Give back to the community

It cost’s nothing to give back to your local community. Whilst it is important to look after your team and thank them for a great year why not make it a charitable experience. Give back to your local Salvation Army, Homeless shelter or organise to help wrap presents for operation Christmas child. Spend the day with a charity organisation teaching your team the values of giving.

The Amazing race scavenger Hunt

Everybody loves a challenge so why not divide your teams and conquer. Scavenger hunts are amazing, you can do them yourself or hire a team to help you in your state for a small cost. This is a great way to create some fun for the team and be a little creative. Why not have them dress up in a theme to add to the excitement.

 The outdoor picnic in the park

As the saying goes it is “cheap and cheerful”. There is nothing better than a home-cooked Christmas, the table spread is our favourite part of the celebration. Scout one of your local parks or beach for the public outdoor bbq. Assign to each person the $10.00-$20.00 budget to bring one of their favourite dishes to your picnic, organise some snags on the barbie – or even some veggie kebabs to add some flavour to the day. A case of beer and a few bottles of wine (just make sure you can drink in that park) and you are all set for the day.

Beers and Bowling

Why not make your Christmas party a friendly competition by taking them to the ten-pin bowling lanes. The great part is you can order food as you go or get them to tailor a menu for your group to ensure the snacks keep coming for your session. An easy and very relaxed party.

Barefoot bowls

It’s party time so get ready to rock around your local Bowls club. The local clubs are a great option for your Christmas party go from Day to night. You can support your local community and have a couple of games for that team bonding session. The great thing about barefoot bowls is a lot of clubs offer a buffet and drinks package if you wish to upgrade your options.

Sing along with Karaoke

I don’t want a lot for Christmas …. Sing your heart out to a Mariah Carey jam. You can hire Karaoke machines or even venture out to a karaoke booth. Add some share plates, a few drinks each and enjoy your very own Christmas Idol.

A very Bollywood Christmas

Why not take a dance lesson whilst you enjoy good food and drink. Dress in a traditional sari, learn the art of belly dancing all whilst enjoying those delicious treats. A great way to see who has the moves like jagger.

We suggest hiring your local community hall or if the budget allows a quirky offsite venue. Remember to try allocate part of the money per head for venue hire. Think festive and tropical design with lots of colour. Ebay and the local $2 shop will be your best friend for decorations. A punch or fruity cocktail on arrival and a buffet decked out with Fruit platters, selection of fresh seafood and some coronas on ice will go down a treat. Don’t forget your ukuleles or those beach boy summer beats for one wild Hawaiian night – Be ready to Hula.

Cruise into Christmas

$70-$85 pp

If you live in a location where you can hire a boat for a few hours it is a great option for the team. You can do a river cruise or the harbour experiences. Complete with buffets, drinks and music it can be a great way to take your team out to celebrate. Some even let you BYO which can be great for the budget.

 The Glamorous life

$90-$100 pp

Eat like kings and queens and enjoy the decadence of a sit down meal with matching wines. You can find your local restaurants will offer great banquet or degustation packages for the season’s tidings. Some are great as they can tailor a menu to suit your budget.
